NIKOLA MILORADOVIC is a Canadian-Serbian architect and filmmaker based in Vienna and Basel. His work has been shown at the Venice Architecture Biennale, the Royal Academy of Arts in London, and the Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism. He has filmed for ARTE, Vitra, and since 2022 has been the in-house filmmaker for Herzog & de Meuron. He has also filmed for the artist James Turrell, photographer Andreas Gursky, and architectural filmmakers Bêka & Lemoine. Nikola studied at the Architectural Association (AA) in London, where he received his Diploma (with Commendation) in 2021. Nikola’s work finds the human stories that buildings and urban spaces create. Shifting between scales that range from fine detailing to large-scale construction, from bursts of activity to quiet moments of stillness, Nikola’s films carefully document how materials, motion, and light affect the life of buildings — and the lives of those around them. He is currently working on his first feature-length documentary about the experimental housing project Wohnhaus Hermanngasse in Vienna’s seventh district, where he lives with his wife Gili, daughter Lara, and Mishmish the poodle.
